GOLD RUSH Parker Schnabel to star in new series Parker’s Trail
Discovery’s hugely popular mining reality series Gold Rush is set to wrap up its seventh season tonight, but Parker Schnabel addicts won’t have to suffer through withdrawal very long because the show’s young gun has landed his own spin-off show!
The show, titled Gold Rush: Parker’s Trail, takes place in the Klondike during the frigid mining off season and will feature Parker and his crew foreman Rick Ness as they attempt to recreate the treacherous steps of the famous Klondike Gold Rush trail.
From the Discovery press release:
Between 1896 and 1899, more than 100,000 brave souls set out on a perilous journey into the frozen North on the legendary Klondike Gold Rush trail. Most never made it to the end. Killed or scared off by bears, treacherous terrain, raging torrents and temperatures below -40 degrees, only one in three completed the journey. Now Parker Schnabel of Discovery Gold Rush fame, will attempt to make this same journey and document it in Gold Rush: Parker’s Trail.
According to People, 22-year-old Parker and Rick will be joined by “wilderness guide Karla Ann, who once worked with Schnabel as a rock truck driver; and cameramen James Levelle, who has known Schnabel for years.” Unfortunately, it is unknown if Parker’s four-legged bestie Dozer will be going along as well.
“I look at all the adventures that my grandpa had I think it really made him who he was,” Parker says in the show’s preview trailer (included below). “I want to test myself against my grandpa and against the pioneers that came before him.”
Parker concludes: “It’s just my way of having a bit of tribute to my grandpa.”

Gold Rush: Parker’s Trail will be three episodes and premieres Friday, March 31 at 9/8c on Discovery.
