Giuliana and Bill Rancic had a long road to parenthood but their day has finally come — well, almost. After years of trying to conceive on their own, even undergoing in vitro fertilization with no success, the Giuliana & Bill couple opted for a surrogate who quickly became pregnant with their biological child and could give birth to their son at any moment.
Giuliana and Bill appeared on The Today Show this past April were they announced that they were expecting a baby in late summer via gestational surrogate. Well, late summer is hear and the couple is heading to Colorado where their surrogate resides and will give birth. “On the plane to Denver!! Baby watch has officially started!!” Bill tweeted on Monday.
“We’re going to go from Colorado to Chicago and then spend September and October in Chicago. And then we’ll come back to the West Coast,” Bill explained to Us Weekly. “I’ve got a tour bus taking us from Denver to Chicago.”
The couple who have homes in both Los Angeles and Chicago recently revealed that they are having a brand new home built in L.A. after selling the home that fans saw them in on recent episodes of Giuliana & Bill.
“I’m just excited to finally meet the baby to be honest,” Giuliana, who fought a very public battle against breast cancer last year, explains. “It’s been a long time in the making and the idea of holding the baby for the first time and kissing the baby is amazing.”
“Everyone is pumped!” Bill added. “Not just our family but so many people. We’re so lucky. So many people have been pulling for us and following our journey. This has all been magical for us.”
Although they are sure to be busy with baby #1, they are already planning for baby #2. In fact, in a recent interview Bill said, “The wheels are in motion.”
