George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin are one step closer to tying the knot! The actor and his international lawyer fiancée got their marriage license in London this week. The notice was then posted outside Chelsea Old Town Hall, which is a legal requirement from U.K. citizens such as Amal.
According to Britain’s Daily Mail, the notice must be posted at least 16 days before the intended date of marriage. People reports Amal gave a “brief interview” at Old Town Hall. The staff was reportedly disappointed George wasn’t present even though, as an American citizen, he wasn’t required to appear.
People adds George and Amal plan to wed in Italy next month.
