Games of Thrones’ Emilia Clarke to play Sarah Connor in Terminator reboot

Game of Thrones actress Emilia Clarke to go from Daenerys Targaryen to Sarah Connor for new Terminator movie

Relatively unknown then-23-year-old actress Emilia Clarke took the world by Stormborn after being cast as the ruthlessly compassionate Daenerys Targaryen, Queen of Dragons in the critically acclaimed HBO series Game of Thrones in 2010, and now she will be putting her fireproof brass ovaries to the test as one of the big screen’s toughest female characters of all time as she has been cast to play Sarah Connor in the new Terminator movie set to premiere in July, 2015.

Emilia will be re-teaming with Game of Thrones director Alan Taylor after reportedly beating out actresses Brie Larson and Margot Robbie to earn the role made famous by Linda Hamilton in The Terminator and its sequel Terminator 2: Judgment Day.

And speaking of The Terminator and its sequel Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Deadline reports that Arnold Schwarzenegger will “be bock” as everyone’s favorite ass-kicking cyborg from the future.

Still up in the air is the role of Sarah Connor’s son John Connor, although Zero Dark Thirty’s Jason Clarke is reportedly in contract negotiations for the role.

And just in case you’re worried about Sarah Connor going platinum blonde, here’s a photo of Emilia with her naturally dark hair:
