‘Dexter’ co-stars Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter cut ties

Like blood slides hidden in a window unit air conditioner sometimes celebrity news can surprise you.  Such is the case with the latest Hollywood marriage gone Splitsville.  Dexter co-stars Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter are officially calling it quits.  In an exclusive joint statement from their respective representatives provided to Entertainment Weekly they said:

“Having been separated for some time, Jennifer Carpenter and Michael C. Hall have filed for divorce.”

The two actors met on the set of the popular Showtime drama.  In the series Carpenter plays the adorably foul-mouthed foster sister of Dexter, the serial killer haunted by his dark passenger, played by Hall.  As a fan of the show I kind of hoped that this one would last but when you’re talking about a Hollywood marriage the odds never seem to be good.

The two were married on December 31st, 2008.  Hall completed treatment for Hodgkin’s lymphoma earlier this year.
