Zuckerberg’s wife Priscilla Chan went incognito to buy her Claire Pettibone wedding dress
Priscilla Chan went stealth to secure her Claire Pettibone wedding gown in Denver. Facebook’s IPO might be having problems, but Claire Pettibone’s stock has gone way up since Priscilla’s wedding to Mark Zuckerberg last weekend. We’ve got all the details.
Last November Priscilla used a fake name to go shopping at Little White Dress Bridal Shop in Denver, and had someone else pay for the Claire Pettibone dress.
The shop’s owner told local 7NEWS: “She was a very nice bride/customer. We had no idea she was marrying one of the wealthiest men in the world.” Priscilla came back this April to pick out her accessories.
Even though her now husband is worth a buttload of money (Give or take a few billion,) Priscilla’s elegant lace dress only cost $4,700. The design is called “Sky Between The Branches” and you can check it out on Pettibone’s website.
All of Pettibone’s dresses are delicate and stunning for pretty affordable prices (you can get most for under $10,000, it looks like.)
Priscilla’s was silk dress with a jeweled neckline encrusted with matted sequins, and an overlay featuring cutouts.
The designer herself was blown away when she found out Priscilla had gotten married in her dress. Pettibone had just gotten home from spending her Saturday at Disneyland with her family for her daughter’s fifth birthday when her husband saw the dress on a news story. She told Buzzfeed: “It was like “Oh my God, oh my God, do you think my publicist is awake? It’s 11:30.” So I texted her and I think it was her boyfriend’s birthday too, and she was hosting a party, so she gets on it. But [news organizations] start posting things and people are commenting — it’s like 2 a.m.! I’m like, don’t people sleep? I need to go to bed!”
Lucky her! Can’t believe she didn’t know until the night of the wedding. What a wonderful surprise, and her dresses are exquisite.
