Was Tom Waits Heath Ledger’s inspiration for The Joker?

The late Heath Ledger’s legendary portrayal of The Joker in The Dark Knight was influenced by many things, including Malcolm McDowell’s Alex in the 1971 film adaptation of A Clockwork Orange and Side Vicious from The Sex Pistols, but it seems that Heath borrowed his accent and mannerisms from musician/performance artist Tom Waits.

Lindsay Lohan was Heath Ledger’s girlfriend when he overdosed; secret diary says she was in love with him

Star Magazine got their hands on a diary Lindsay Lohan kept where she (then 21) writes about her love for Heath Ledger after he accidentally overdosed on prescription medications January 22, 2008. He died from the combined effects of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam and doxylamine; some powerful drugs.

Lindsay has long struggled with alcohol and prescription pill addiction, staying in and out of rehab and jail, and struggling with her career as a result. In the diary, she says that the one person who could understand her was Heath, who was now gone. She also professes her love for him:
