Most women would be out the door if they found out their husband cheated on them — but not Caroline Manzo. In a new interview, the Real Housewives of New Jersey star opens up about her views on marriage and explains why she’d never give up on her marriage over just one mistake.
“If Al cheated on me 25 years ago, one night, that was then and this is now,” Caroline reveals to In Touch. “No one on this planet could say with 100 percent certainty that their partner never cheated. I have no indication that he has, but if it didn’t happen yesterday, last week, a month ago, I’m not worried about it.”
Caroline is currently writing a book, Let Me Tell You Something, which is described as a personal and practical guide to achieving a strong marriage as well as close relationships with your children with a firm belief in loyalty to friends.
Caroline and Albert’s marriage may be thriving now, but things weren’t always easy for the couple. In fact, they struggled with their marriage early on after welcoming their three children. “We could hardly afford diapers,” she admits. “Those were tough times.”
Caroline is happy and grateful that she and Albert were able to overcome the hard times, but even if he had strayed, she wouldn’t let that come between them now. “If your husband is a good guy and a provider and you have a tremendous connection, you can’t throw your marriage away over a one-night stand,” Caroline explains. “My husband is my best friend. Marriage is worth the fight. I would go to hell and back for him and he would do the same.”
