Bret Michaels’ engagement rose has its thorn

Bret Michaels and ex-fiancee Kristi Gibson

When Bret Michaels went to one veteran rocker knee and proposed to his girlfriend of over a decade and the mother of his two children the TV world wept from the beauty and sincerity of the moment. Okay. Maybe that was just the reclusive girl down the hall who really loved her some Bret Michaels: Life As I Know It, but lives were touched people.

Sadly providing evidence in defense of his most famous lyric about roses and thorns, night and dawn, cowboys and sad, sad songs, Bret Michaels has called off his engagement to Kristi Gibson. His spokesperson, (no – not C.C. DeVille) broke the news that when he and Kristi unskinny bop-bop in the future wedding bells will not be ringing:

“Although the couple have separated they remain great friends and are committed to jointly raising their two daughters.”

Bret, who is now an entrepreneur in the ever-growing fashion field of canine rock accessories, added a little more via his official website. Talk dirty to us Bret about how life isn’t always nuthin’ but a good time and give us something to believe in:

“With all that Kristi, Raine, Jorja and I are going through, no doubt this is a very difficult time for all of us. I want all of you to know that Kristi and I remain great friends and committed loving parents to our daughters. I am blessed to have someone as great as Kristi in my life in any capacity.”

I expect an announcement for another chapter of Rock of Love any day now.
