RHONJ’s Joe Giudice and Teresa Giudice sentenced in fraud case

Joe and Teresa Giudice arrive at court for sentencing

The Real Housewives of New Jersey‘s Joe Giudice and Teresa Giudice finally received sentencing today for the fraud charges they pleaded guilty to in March. After giving the Giudices a stern lecture about the couple’s continued efforts to thwart the court’s efforts to ascertain their assets, U.S. District Court Judge Esther Salas sentenced Joe Giudice to 41 months and supervised released for two years. He has also been ordered to pay restitution of $414,588. We are still awaiting an announcement Teresa’s sentencing, but the judge has already stated that if she received jail time it will not be concurrent with Joe’s so that they may care for their four daughters.

“I stand here humiliated before the court and my family and society,” Joe Giudice said in a prepared statement to the court. “I disgraced many people, including my wife and four daughters. I take full responsibility for my actions. I promise to be a better person.”

UPDATE – Teresa has been sentenced to 15 months, and she will serve her time first. She has to turn herself in on January 5. “I’m so scared. I’m blessed, but today I am also humbled. I fully take responsibility for my actions,” Giudice said in court. ”This is not how I was raised. I am more sorry than anyone will ever know.”

NJ.com’s @VickiHy live tweeted the drama in the courtroom today, which was no easy feat given that electronic devices were not allowed and she had to continue going out and back in to share updates:
