Katie Holmes just quickly settled a surprise divorce from Tom Cruise, and although there’s a lot of speculation that Tom’s fervent involvement with Scientology caused a huge problem problem for the marriage, especially as far as daughter Suri is involved, the Church of Scientology is said to have not been involved in their settlement negotiations. Scientology was also thought to have played a part in Tom’s split from second wife Nicole Kidman (and it also played a key role in his split from first wife Mimi Rogers, oddly enough all of Tom’s wives left him at the age of 33. That’s a coincidence, but it’s still a little weird.)
Now US Weekly has a source saying that Katie Holmes and Nicole Kidman have been clandestinely talking on the phone (part of Katie’s stealth leaving the marriage involved her changing her getting a secret, disposable cell.)
According to a confidante Nicole has been “a private friend not many people know about,” and even though Nicole has remained largely estranged from her teenage kids with Tom, Connor and Isabella, she has reportedly kept in contact with Katie since her 2006 marriage to Tom.
“They’ve spoken over the last few weeks. Nicole has been supportive, saying she’s been through it too and to hang in there.”
This may just be speculation and hype, but it doesn’t seem crazy that Nicole and Katie would have compared notes during this transitional time. No doubt they both have unique perspectives on Scientology, and Hollywood.
Nicole now lives mostly in Nashville with her husband Keith Urban and their 4-year-old daughter Sunday Rose. In 2011, Nicole gushed about how much she enjoyed Nashville, “It’s the warmest, loveliest community I’ve ever set foot in. For me, it’s the perfect place to live. To me it’s the best part of America.”
