Adele cancels U.S. tour over illness, what’s wrong with the chanteuse?

British pop soul mistress Adele has had to cancel nine across the pond (U.S.) tour dates because she’s lost her golden voice! Boo!

The chanteuse has been struggling with laryngitis recently, and was forced to cancel a concert in Minneapolis. She was able to perform in Denver, but she’s still not getting any better, so docs in ordered her to rest for several weeks!

Here’s a statement from Columbia Records:

“Adele recently postponed five shows under doctor’s orders when she was diagnosed with laryngitis. While resting in Los Angeles, Adele met with an otolaryngology specialist who determined it was imperative that she take the next few weeks to recover with absolute voice rest.”

Fans are disappointed, and Adele isn’t pleased either at her having to interrupt a tour for her chart-topping sophomore album 21. She expressed her feelings in a statement:

“I’m really frustrated,” Adele said in a statement. “I was hoping with a week’s rest, I’d be better to sing again straight away. However, there is absolutely nothing I can do but take the doctor’s advice and rest some more. I’m so sorry.”

Adele is a refreshing voice on the pop music charts. Here’s to hoping she rests up, gets better, and comes back to perform in the U.S. We can’t get enough of you, love.

A little Adele to tide us over:
