Dakota Fanning is one of those former child stars we don’t hear much about — which should be a compliment to her. Since her days in I am Sam, Uptown Girls and more hit movies, Dakota has seamlessly transitioned into quality adult roles.
In fact, the only notable “controversy” that Dakota’s been involved in is that she’s dating model Jamie Strachan, who’s 13 years her senior. The duo was first seen together last May. They have been spotted around New York this week displaying some PG PDA at the U.S. Open and while strolling down the street.
Although they do have quite an age difference, it seems Dakota and Jamie are both looking for the same things.
“I have a weird vision of relationships because my parents have known each other since second grade, and they got married right out of college. I’ve always thought that’s what it’s supposed to be like, and if it’s not, then I don’t want to waste my time on it,” Dakota told Glamour in March. “Even when I was 14, I was like, ‘I’m not gonna marry this person. What’s the point of doing it?’ It’s not me being naive. I just know what it’s supposed to be like. And I think until I feel that, I cannot be bothered.”
Jamie also seems to be marriage-minded: The professional runway model was previously engaged to Adam Levine’s current fiance, Behati Prinsloo.
Dakota recently went solo at the Venice Film Festival, where represented her latest film, Night Moves. She is next set to appear alongside Susan Sarandon in The Last of Robin Hood and then as the titular character in Effie Gray.
