Arguably the most influential movie director of the last 20 years got his backside seriously toasted yesterday as Quentin Tarantino was officially inducted in to New York City’s esteemed Friar’s Club.

Samuel L. Jackson struck down upon Q with the vengeance of the LORD as the ceremonial roastmaster but before the Reservoir Dogs like torturing of Tarantino began Cheech Marin spoke to a reporter about his relationship with Quentin as well as Cheech and Chong’s surprising influence on some of Tarantino’s most respected films.

The ultimate stoner duo had a direct hand in those incredible car scenes between Samuel L. Jackson and John Travolta in Pulp Fiction as well as a C&C vinyl record assisting Q and Eli Roth during the writing process of Inglorious Basterds.  That is some hardcore insider Tarantino knowledge as well as important historical information for American cinema.

If you want to check out some great photos from the roast check out our previous post with pics of Sarah Silverman, Samuel L. Jackson, Uma Thurman and the man himself.
