The Annual Friar’s Club Roast got underway today at noon and this year’s dishonoree is legendary filmmaker Quentin Tarantino!
An army of comic Kung Fu artists will be slicing up Tarantino with the same gratuitous aplomb as the characters in his films, but instead of guns and knives the weapon of choice will be the barbed wit of this seasoned cast of roasters that include Sarah Silverman, Kathy Griffin and roastmaster Samuel L. Jackson.
Included in this post are the first photos of the celebrities arriving at the event, including the Quent himself, seemingly in good spirits and fully prepared for his verbal beatdown!
The roast was initially set to take place October 1 but had to be delayed after the death of Tarantino’s longtime friend and editor, Sally Menke. The list of celebs initially scheduled to appear includes Uma Thurman, Pam Grier, Kathy Griffin, Christopher Walken, Michael Madsen, Patricia Arquette, Harvey Weinstein, Neve Campbell, Jeff Ross, Eli Roth, Rob Schneider, Sarah Silverman, Rosario Dawson, Michelle Rodriguez, Bo Svenson and more! With a group like that this event promises to be nothing short of a royale with cheese!
