Forget six degrees of Kevin Bacon. Now you can be separated by just one degree from the prolific actor by purchasing a commissioned bust statue of Bacon made entirely of bacon!
Seattle based company J&D Foods specializes in all things bacon including their very own bacon flavored salt, mayonnaise – called Baconnaise – to envelopes that taste like bacon when they’re licked. The company believes “everything is better with bacon” and put their money where their motto is by commissioning an artist to render a statue of Kevin Bacon made of bacon.
Owners of J&D, Justin Esch and Dave Lefkow, are auctioning off the masterwork with all proceeds to go to Ashley’s Team, a nonprofit organization that has one simple goal; to bring joy and happiness to children with cancer and their families. Ashley’s Team’s namesake is Lefkow’s 4-year-old daughter who was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia last year.
If you’re wondering if Mr. Bacon is on board with his likeness formed of bacon you’ll be happy to know he was more than eager to contribute to the cause.
The listing for the statue entitled “Bacon Kevin Bacon” states that:

Owning Bacon Kevin Bacon will automatically make you the coolest person you will ever know, a champion of the underground meat sculpture movement and honestly should really tie any room together nicely. After all, bacon does make everything better.
The artist who created “Bacon Kevin Bacon” is Mike Lahue from Pennsylvania. He wouldn’t mind if Bacon ended up winning the auction but he was shooting for the Smithsonian so that “it can be displayed to the masses forever.”
