The population of the state of Arkansas continues to skyrocket courtesy of the Duggar family! The latest addition comes courtesy of second-oldest daughter Jill Dillard, who gave birth to son Samuel Scott Dillard earlier today, her second child with husband Derick Dillard.

“We are excited to finally announce the arrival of Samuel Scott Dillard!” the announcement from the couple’s website reads. “The newest addition to our family arrived on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 1:02pm. He weighs 9lb 10oz and is 22” long.”

Fans of the Duggar family might recall that Jill had a rather lengthy labor last time around, clocking in at MORE THAN 70 HOURS bfore eventually having a C-section. This time around Jill spent just over half that amount of time in labor before once again opting for surgery. “After 40 hours of labor, he was delivered via C-section at the hospital,” the statement reveals. It concludes with “Thank you for your continued prayers and support!”

We still don’t have a photo of little Sam, but we will stay tuned to social media and Duggar Weekly (aka People)! 😉

UPDATE – And here is the first photo of Samuel Scott Dillard courtesy of proud pop Derick on Twitter:

Derick also shared the photo on Instagram and wrote “Jill and I are so blessed to welcome our second child, Samuel Scott Dillard! 9 lbs 10 oz and 22 in long! Mom and baby Sam are doing well! Thank you to those who have been supporting us through your prayers and encouragement!”

Samuel Scott joins big brother Israel David, who was born April 6, 2015. That’s more than two years between babies! Derick and Jill better step it up!

Poor kid being born into a family of freaks. Her husband is creepy looking and I hate him for trying to run a cat over on a sled.
