DA dismisses sexual assault charges against Bill Cosby; another woman accuses him of toe-sucking

Bill Cosby

The district attorney in Judy Huth’s sexual assault case has dismissed her charges against Bill Cosby, saying that the events she describes happened too long ago for them to be prosecuted.

Huth, now 55, has long claimed that she was molested by Cosby at a Playboy Mansion party in 1974. She filed a civil suit against Cosby last month, and met with Los Angeles detectives two weeks ago to share her side of the case.

The charge would have been “annoying or molesting a child under the age of 18,” which is a misdemeanor. Ultimately, though, events Huth describes happened so long ago that they fall outside of the statute of limitations for the charge.

Huth’s attorney, Gloria Allred, is still looking for women to join a nascent class-action lawsuit against Cosby.

At the same time, yet another woman has come forward to accuse Cosby of sexual misconduct–and the events she says took place are far more recent than most of the ones we’ve heard about so far.

Model Chloe Goins, 24, told English tabloid The Daily Mail that she had an encounter with Cosby in 2008, when Goins was 18. She claims he drugged her, and, when she woke up, she was naked, and Cosby was licking her toes.

In Goins’ words,

My girlfriend got an invite to a Playboy party and asked me to go with her. I remember being excited about it. We stayed at the W Hotel in Hollywood which is one of my favorites and were both looking forward to the party. We got all dressed up, we were going to the Playboy mansion after all. I was a wearing a cute little red dress and my friend was wearing a strapless tan dress….We were talking to Hef for a while and that’s when Bill Cosby walked up. I kind of recognized him from TV, I know he was on a TV show where he played a family guy, but he was a little bit before my time. Hef introduced him as his good friend, they seemed really close. He seemed like a really nice guy, really funny. We were talking, laughing and having fun….He gave me a vodka mixer I think. I wasn’t really supposed to drink because of my age but I was like, ‘okay, cool’. I thought I’d got a drink on the side….Everything kind of went a little foggy, I started feeling sick to my stomach, and just dizzy….I came to and remember seeing this big man crouched over me. It was Bill Cosby and he was at my feet, kind of licking and kissing them and I think he bit my toe as that’s what woke me up….He jumped up, pulled his pants back up quickly and left. He had seen that I was alert and bolted out of there, I was left in the room by myself.

The date of Goins’ story puts her allegations within the California statute of limitations for sexual abuse.

Earlier this week, Cosby made headlines by saying he expected neutrality from “black media” outlets, a remark for which he has been roundly criticized.

And just yesterday, his wife Camille attracted further bad press by suggesting that it’s Cosby himself who’s the victim in this ongoing story.
