PHOTOS Freddie Prinze Jr. “recovering great” after spinal surgery

Freddie Prinze Jr spinal surgery photos

Actor Freddie Prinze Jr. has had a great deal to be thankful for over the holidays as he recovered from successful spinal surgery on November 20. The 38-year-old actor, and husband of Scooby-Doo co-star Sarah Michelle Gellar, has been cheerfully (and humorously) documenting his progress on Twitter, complete with tons of photos.

Although Freddie has not revealed a lot of details about the procedure itself, he does tell WWE wrestler Dolph Ziggler at one point that he “just had Cena surgery,” which is assumed to be in reference to wrestler John Cena, who had a herniated disk in his neck repaired via an incision in his neck back in which neurosurgeon Dr. Joseph Maroon “removed a fragment from Cena’s spinal cord, which had been blocking a nerve,” according to Wikinews.

Before we get to all of Freddie’s tweets, let me just wish him a speedy recovery. Hopefully he will soon be back to being a fully functional dad to his 5-year-old daughter and 2-year-old son as well as his wife!

UPDATE – It seems Freddie is well on his way! In his most recent tweets he lets fans know, “Guys Im totally fine. Recovering great.” He adds, “I can walk fine. Just puttin back together one step at a time.”

OK, here are Freddie Prinze Jr.’s tweets about his surgery in chronological order, starting with a pre-op pic and going from there:
