Miley Cyrus seems determined to distance herself from her Hannah Montana persona as she has toned her figure down with constant trips to the gym and recently dyed her hair blonde. The 19-year-old singer and actress seems to have completed the transformation after getting her hair cut short. Really short!

Miley teased fans that she might be losing her locks earlier in the day when she tweeted, “tick tock tick tock” and then shared this photo:

Hair dresser Chris McMillan got in on the fun as well, tweeting this photo just before the snipping began along with, “Good bye bun. Stay tuned.”

Then she wrote, “it’s happening.” Followed by, “if you don’t have something nice to say don’t say anything at all. my hair is attached to my head no one else’s and it’s going bye bye ”

And Miley wasn’t kidding! She shared these next few photos without any captions:

And did Miley regret her decision? Nope! The exact opposite appears to be the case. Check out her enthusiastic series of tweets over the last hour or so:

So what do you think of Miley’s new look? She kind of resembles Ashlee Simpson after she went short and blonde to me – but not in a bad way at all! I have to confess that I’m no longer seeing Hannah Montana when I look at Miley Cyrus, so if that’s what she was going for, congratulations!

I think the haircut looks great on her. She is trying to get rid of the image that so many still hold her to even though she is not a child anymore and she is doing it in ways that are better then just getting drunk and in trouble.

It’s not something I would chose but she isn’t me. She has mentioned how it’s the first time she’s felt like herself, so that’s brilliant!!! I think she looks beautiful. I think Liam will love it, because it’s what makes her happy.

As long as she’s happy that’s what matters. That being said, we still have a right to have our own opinions on how it looks, so she needs to get over the whole “if you have nothing nice to say don’t say it at all” BS because not everyone has the same taste or sees things the same way. It’s not unkind to say that I personally do not think it is a flattering look for her, and the cut itself is not done too well. She’ll always look great and be beautiful, but this was a terrible style choice.

P.S., what does constantly going to the gym have to do with losing her HM image? She was stick thin back then too. I don’t see how that relates at all.
