Why did Kari Byron, Tory Belleci and Grant Imahara leave MythBusters?
This week’s season finale for MythBusters featured a plot twist more akin to a drama’s conclusion: Original/main hosts Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman surprised many fans at the end of the episode when they announced Kari Byron, Tory Belleci and Grant Imahara will no longer participate.
The group, collectively known as the M7 Build Team, has aided in the elaborate experiments since the second season in 2003. After the announcement, they each took to Twitter to thank fans for their support.
After a decade of the Mythbusters, we are no longer with the show. Thank you to all the fans who have supported us.

It's been an amazing ride for 10 years! We couldn't have done it without you guys. You're the best fans anyone could wish for. Thank you

Thanks @MythBusters for allowing us to teach science in a whole new way. Also, explosions. Now, on to the next adventure!

Even though they all seemed appreciative for the experience, Kari later implied the decision to leave wasn’t up to them.
“The show is taking a new direction,” she said before adding, “I am sad for an ending but there will be exciting new adventures for us.”
According to Nerdist, Adam Savage previously said the 2015 season will be a “reboot” in terms of the show’s look. It’s now apparent that new look doesn’t involve the M7 Build Team.
The Discovery Channel show averaged fewer that 500,000 viewers per episode during the newly completed season.
