Teen Mom tabloidegery – Leah Messer and Corey Simms divorce fallout

Leah Messer and Corey Simms divorce tabloid cover stories from May 2011

As you might have expected you are going to see a lot of Leah Messer and Corey Simms as you wait in line at the grocery store this week as three of the major tabloids are running with the the Teen Mom 2 couple on their covers.

Us Weekly just has a small photo of them with the headline “Teen Mom Split – Corey’s Betrayal” but both OK! and In Touch are running with their versions of what happened as their main cover stories.

OK! Leah Messer and Corey Simms magazine cover "Fight for the Twins"

OK! Ran with this headline:

Teen Mom Exclusive:
Leah and Corey
FIGHT FOR THE TWINS

The explosive secrets that will decide custody:
• Leah catches Corey in the act
• Out-of-control partying
• The attacks she just can’t forgive

Their article is based on “insiders” who say that Leah and Corey’s marriage was basically for show so they could be on Teen Mom 2 and that they fought constantly “about their home, housekeeping, how to spend their money and relationships with their exes.” On a positive note, the magazine’s sources all seem to concur that Leah and Corey both love their twin daughters.

According to the article, the straw that broke the camel’s back for Corey was a party Leah attended on March 25. Leah left Corey with the twins to go to the party, which was being held at the house of a guy named Logan who apparently busted up Corey’s eye in a fight in 2009.

“Not only did Leah betray Corey by hanging out with the guy who put him in the hospital, she also spent the night partying, playing beer pong and complaing about Corey!” says the Leah insider. “When it came out that she had been partying with Logan, Corey saw red. He was officially done with her. There would be no more apologies or excuses – he didn’t want to hear it.”

Teen Mom Leah Messer empotional after reading Facebook messages to Corey from a girl named JordanAfter that things in the house, and in the relationship, got really ugly.

The magazine states Corey cut off sex with Leah “and even attacked her verbally about her stretch marks, says her friend. And then she caught him on the sofa watching pornography in their home.”

Leah countered by making it hard for her in-laws to see their granddaughters, says a friend of Corey’s.

One of Leah’s biggest complaints was the living conditions at their home, which was owned by Corey’s parents. Corey’s friend says Leah delivered an ultimatum that they either move out and get a nicer place to live or they were done. Corey called her on it and told her to leave.

The magazine also claims that Leah’s ex (And rumored pre-marital affair) Robbie Kidd is back in the picture and talks to Leah on a regular basis. Robbie recently posted on his Facebook wall about Leah: “My chances are 50/50 but my vision is 20/20.”

Not to be outdone, Corey is reportedly also been in contact with his ex-girlfriend Whitney.

And things look like they are going to get worse before they get better because Corey’s parents are reportedly ready to spend however much money is necessary to help Corey get custody of the twins. An insider says Corey’s dad has promised to “spend as much as he has to ensure that Corey gets custody.”

In Touch Weekly Teen Mom 2 cover with Leah Messer and Jenelle Evans Babies In Danger

In Touch seems to be fully on Leah’s side in their Leah (and Jenelle) cover story, which featured the headline:

Teen Mom: BABIES IN DANGER
Corey hits Leah! Now, terrified, she demands full custody.

The tabloid says Leah filed for divorce on April 15 (which matches up with online court records) and was an anxious wreck prior to that. “She was so upset and overwhelmed by the breakup that she was vomiting,” a pal says.

The anxiety was in part because Leah had been locked out of the house she and Corey shared (owned by Corey’s parents), which seems to match up with the OK! story above. Leah found the door locked on the 12th and forced her way in. Corey came home soon after and the two had a big argument during which witnesses could hear Leah crying.

Leah’s friend says that most of the problems in the relationship stem from Leah having to assume too much of the parenting duties:

Even though Corey claims to be a hands-on dad, Leah’s friend says she can’t stand his selfish behavior toward Aliannah and Aleeah — and the fact that he almost always puts his needs above those of the babies. From getting into shouting matches in front of the children to transferring money from their bank account in an attempt to buy a new truck for himself — money that could have been used for Ali’s health care — to his insistence on living at his mother’s place, which only has a stall shower, making it impossible to bathe the girls, Corey’s decisions show a distinct lack of consideration for his kids. And Leah’s worried sick at the thought of his getting even partial custody.

All three of the magazines talked about in this article should be available on newsstands tomorrow so pick them up if you want the full stories.

This all sounds really ugly. Regardless of which story you choose to believe there is a family being broken up here and at least four people that are going to be suffering a great deal because of it. Thanks to the show there are a lot of us that feel very close to Leah, Corey and the twins and it’s a really unpleasant thing to have to watch it all fall apart. I hope that if they can’t work it out they will at least remain civil and pleasant towards each other for the sake of Aliannah and Aleeah.

Oh, and I don’t know what the story is on Jenelle and her headline “Jenelle abandons Jace to bail out her drug addict boyfriend,” but I’m guessing its just an exaggerated account of Jenelle bailing Kieffer out of jail when it was her time to watch Jace or something like that. When I get the magazine I will update this post if there is something more to the story.
