Someone is catfishing folks as Catfish host Nev Schulman
And in “ironic things I’m surprised didn’t happen sooner” news, Catfish host Nev Schulman sent out a warning via social media earlier today to make people aware that someone is catfishing folks pretending to be Nev Schulman!
Here’s the Facebook message from Nev followed by a screen cap of the text messages people have been receiving from a person claiming to be him:
ATTENTION! For the past 2 weeks I have been getting lots of tweets and DM’s from people who have received a text message from someone pretending to be me. Ironic, isn’t it? Anyway, I just wanted to let everyone know it isn’t me texting you (sorry) and that you should watch out and probably best to delete/block the number. #DontSendNudes
So be sure to ask for proof y’all! And if you’re skyping with Nev (or Max) and things still seem a bit off, make sure they’re not wearing one of these clever costumes I spotted late last year:
Visited a Halloween costume pop up shop and was pleased to see they had both @NevSchulman & @MaxJoseph! #Catfish pic.twitter.com/KMiQNA0ZkE
