REPORT Peaches Geldof died from heroin overdose
The Times of London is reporting that Peaches Geldof died of a heroin overdose, with an official announcement reportedly to come Thursday from Detective Chief Inspector Paul Fotheringham.
According to The Times:
Roger Hatch, the coroner, waited for results of the toxicology tests to determine if Ms Geldof had died of an overdose before deciding to open an inquest after a post-mortem examination failed to establish the cause of death.
An ongoing investigation into Peaches Geldof’s death hopes to answer why there was no evidence of drug paraphernalia found in her residence, with some speculating the house may have been “cleaned” prior to being searched.

If it is determined Peaches Geldof died of a heroin overdose, she will join her mother, Paula Yates, on the ever-growing list of casualties of the drug.
Peaches’ mom died of a heroin overdose in 2000 when Peaches was only 11. Paula Yates was taking care of Peaches’ four-year-old half-sister Tiger Lily when she died from what the coroner ruled was not a suicide, but a result of “foolish and incautious” behavior. Based on testimony of a friend who said Paula had not been an active drug user for two years, the coroner determined that the amount of heroin taken by Yates would not have killed an addict, as “an unsophisticated taker of heroin,” Yates had a lower tolerance for the drug.
Peaches Geldof was also taking care of a child, 11-month-old son Phaedra (seen with Peaches in the photo above), at the time she died. Many are theorizing that it may have been a reduced tolerance for heroin that led to Peaches’ overdose — just like her mother.
Peaches was 25 at the time of her death. Her mother Paula Yates was 41.
