Former OC star may soon be priced out of the county’s real estate market: According to new reports, the former child star owes more than $100,000 in past-due mortgage payments.
TMZ reports the actress “just got slapped with a default notice,” which triggers the foreclosure process.
Using a $4.2 million loan, she purchased the lavish 8-bedroom, 11-bathroom estate for sale price $6.4 million in 2005, one year before her run on The OC ended. She listed the house for sale in 2010 and 2011 before attempting to lease it for $35,000 per month last year.
Mischa has acted consistently since The OC, but the roles haven’t exactly been up to the same caliber (read: salary level) as those in her heyday. The good news is that, according to her, she’s now a lot happier with life.
UPDATE People confirms Mischa hasn’t paid in “nearly five months” and her home is now in foreclosure.
