REPORT Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie to marry this weekend
For years, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have said they would not marry until gay couples across the country shared the same freedom. However, the couple shocked everyone when they became engaged this past April. Now, there is speculation that Brad and Angie will be tying the knot this weekend at Chateau Miraval, their estate in South France.
A source told British newspaper The Sun that preparations are underway for a huge bash, allegedly the 50th wedding anniversary celebration for Brad’s parents, Jane and Bill. However, many believe that it is simply a ploy set in place to fool press and paparazzi. “Brad flew in to oversee preparations, but they’re all here now,” the source said of Brangelina’s rumored wedding day. “They say it’s for Jane and Bill, but some think this could be it.”
While it is being assumed that the wedding may take place this Saturday, there have also been reports that the couple won’t wed until August 18 because the mayor postponed a local fair set for that weekend. Brad’s BFF George Clooney has yet to arrive, but sources claim he is just an hour’s flight away at his pad in Italy. No word on if Brad’s “ordinary” brother Doug got an invite.
According to The Sun, the couple had always planned to marry at Chateau Miraval. In fact, their $35 million estate even has a chapel on the grounds. Also currently on the grounds? Angie’s personal jeweler who has arrived earlier for the couple’s upcoming event. The source adds, “There’s a real buzz around the estate.”
This wouldn’t be the first time a high-profile celebrity couple got married overseas. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes married in a small town in Italy and Eva Longoria and Tony Parker wed in Paris, France. Unfortunately, both couples have since divorced. Could there be an overseas curse?
Shortly after the news broke of their engagement, Brad’s manager said, “It’s a promise for the future, and their kids are very happy.” The kids were reportedly the ones urging their celebrity parents to tie the knot.
People Magazine has several sources telling them that these wedding rumors are rubbish. Apparently under French law, a couple can’t hold a civil wedding service in their own home, it has to be at a town hall.
