Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino was arrested last month for getting into a fist fight with his brother at the family tanning salon in New Jersey. When he later stepped out in public with a nice shiner, most of us assumed it was courtesy of Frank Sorrentino’s left hook… Not so, older brother Marc Sorrentino revealed this week!
“I’m going to let you in on a secret, mom is the one who got him,” Marc told E! Online the feisty family matriarch, Linda Sorrentino. “She got him with a left. Mom’s the tough one.”
Linda corroborated the story, but clarified she didn’t mean to hurt her son.
“I was trying to break him and Frank up and I think I missed,” she said. “I broke my finger. I just got it out of the sling.”
After outing Linda’s role in the fight, Marc addressed rumors the family staged the fight for their upcoming reality show.
“Everyone was asking us if it was for the show, but it wasn’t. We were wrapped already. There were no cameras filming it,” he said… However, TVGN ordered a ninth episode of The Sorrentinos to show the fight’s aftermath.
In a separate interview with Too Fab this week, Mike said there was a lot of family tension leading up to they brawl but that they’ve since worked through the issues.
“It can be a little taxing when you’re working and almost living with your family as well,” said Mike who does live with Frank. “They have big personalities as well as I do. When you get in an argument with a family member, it’s not like you can say ‘You’re fired’ and they’re gonna walk out the door. You still gotta deal with them when you come home.”
The Sorrentinos premieres on TVGN on Tuesday, July 15, at 10/9c.
