PHOTO Miley Cyrus goes POTUS quote with new ink


In the highly competitive world of random celebrity tattoos Miley Cyrus went next level by getting a vintage POTUS quote on her forearm. Lemme explain…

Apparently it’s some paparazzi dude’s full-time job to hang out at the location where Miley goes to do Palates because every other day or so there are pics of her walking in and out of her class on our image feed. It is Miley, so sometimes the outfits are revealing, but the other day she gave the paps something to get excited about. New ink!

Yesterday the above shot was taken with what appears to be a brand new tattoo (or it just may be writing like Taylor Swift does) and it turns out that it’s a quote from none other than the 26th President of the United States, Teddy Roosevelt. It reads:

“So that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who knew neither victory nor defeat.”

Cyrus is fond of deep and meaningful quotes as is apparent on her Twitter feed. She also hates her some paparazzi.

The quote is culled from Roosevelt’s “Citizen’s in a Republic” April 23rd 2010 1910 (whoops) speech made at the Sorbonne in Paris. In full he stated:

“It is not the critic who counts: not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles or where the doer of deeds could have done better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood, who strives valiantly, who errs and comes up short again and again, because there is no effort without error or shortcoming, but who knows the great enthusiasms, the great devotions, who spends himself for a worthy cause; who, at the best, knows, in the end, the triumph of high achievement, and who, at the worst, if he fails, at least he fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who knew neither victory nor defeat.”

So what do you think of the quote choice? I’m glad she did go presidential because if you go veep than one might end up with a regrettable gem like Al Gore’s, ”A zebra does not change its spots.”

While going old school POTUS is a game changer I still have to give the nod to Kat Von D’s Jesse James as a kid / rainbow tat as my all-time celeb fav.
