Oscars 2013: Reese Witherspoon wears retro Veronica Lake inspired hair

Reese Witherspoon make Twitter light up with Veronica Lake references (and a plethora of hair spray jokes) when she stepped on the red carpet for the 2013 Academy Awards sporting some retro waves. Reese wore a cobalt blue gown with black trim and jewels by Louis Vuitton.

Veronica was known for her over-the-eye sweep, but when searching for comparison photos for this post, most of the time her famous waves weren’t quite as tight as the ones Reese is wearing.
