The Mindy Project canceled by FOX — but might find a new home
FOX pulled the plug on The Mindy Project after three seasons — but there’s a good chance the show could be resurrected elsewhere.
The move on FOX’s part isn’t particularly surprising, considering the show, based around Mindy Kaling as OB-GYN Mindy Lahiri, never pulled huge ratings. However, there was a dedicated following that rallied for the network to renew after the third season finale saw Mindy discover she was pregnant.
Fortunately for fans who hope to see Mindy Lahiri’s story continue, Buzzfeed News reports “conversations are currently underway with Hulu about a multi-season deal.” Hulu already has exclusively streaming rights for past episodes.
Either way, it looks like Mindy Kaling will be just fine.
She announced this week that her second book, Why Not Me?, will be released on Sept. 29. In it, she promises to “spill a million” celebrity secrets.
