TMZ posted a video of Miley Cyrus smoking a bong five days after her 18th birthday.
This is hardly a shocker, for many reasons, but the main reason this isn’t a big deal is that this is what 18-year-old kids do, they experiment with substances. The substance in this case isn’t the Willie Nelson Special, though, it’s a legal (in California) psychoactive herb called salvia divinorum (a.k.a Diviner’s Sage or Seer’s Sage.)
It’s classified as the most potent naturally occurring hallucinogen, and can have the following effects:
- Uncontrollable laughter
- Past memories, such as revisiting places from childhood memory
- Sensations of motion, or being pulled or twisted by forces
- Visions of membranes, films and various two-dimensional surfaces
- Merging with or becoming objects
- Overlapping realities, such as the perception of being in several locations at once
