Amanda Bynes… where do we start? The former child star has been having some serious driving issues as of late — and that’s putting it lightly. It all started back in April when Amanda was charged with DUI. Since then, she has been accused of numerous hit and runs, and has been seen driving on a suspended license several times. Last week, she was even photographed driving while smoking out of a drug pipe. Now, fellow former child star (and fellow perpetual bad driver) Lindsay Lohan is wondering why Bynes hasn’t been thrown in the slammer yet!
Lindsay took to her Twitter account last night and wrote, “Why did I get put in jail and a nickelodeon star has had NO punishment(s) so far?” A few moments later, she added, “These are the moments that I appreciate my life experiences, living without regrets and Disney for supporting me as an actress-night all.”
Perhaps Lindsay, who served 14 days in jail in 2010 after violating her probation, was unaware of what happened earlier that morning. Amanda Bynes had been pulled over yesterday morning at 8:20 a.m. in Burbank, California. When police ran her license and found it had been suspended, they issued her a misdemeanor citation and impounded her vehicle. Amanda wasn’t arrested, but hey, at least they got her off the road temporarily!
Earlier in the week, a judge ordered that she get off the streets after getting word of her pipe incident. However, Amanda didn’t take his advice, and days later crashed into yet another car on September 13.
Amanda will appear in court on Friday, September 21, where she’ll face charges of DUI as well as two counts of hit-and-run.
UPDATE – Apparently Amanda Bynes is none too pleased to be drawing comparisons to Lindsay Lohan. From TMZ:
Amanda texted a friend this morning, “I HATE being compared to her.” Amanda says she’s never been arrested for drugs or chasing someone, like Lindsay. FYI … Amanda is facing criminal charges of driving under the influence.
Nonetheless, Bynes says she and Lindsay were never friends in the first place, and LiLo needs to focus on herself and leave her (Amanda) alone.
I don’t think I have ever typed these words before, but I think Amanda Bynes is right.
