Lady Gaga positively addresses Super Bowl body shamers
Lady Gaga shared a message of body positivity in response to everyone who criticized her weight during her Super Bowl halftime performance.
While most of the feedback for her high-energy show was lauding and supportive, a faction of haters on Twitter felt it was necessary to poo-poo her stomach. The Little Monsters, Lady G’s devoted fan base, fiercely reacted to this body-shaming which caused the story to take on a life of its own.
The “Born this Way” singer finally addressed the controversy with a thoughtful share to Instagram last night.
She wrote:
I heard my body is a topic of conversation so I wanted to say, I’m proud of my body and you should be proud of yours too. No matter who you are or what you do. I could give you a million reasons why you don’t need to cater to anyone or anything to succeed. Be you, and be relentlessly you. That’s the stuff of champions. thank you so much everyone for supporting me. I love you guys. Xoxo, gaga
Gaga announced her “Joanne” world tour just hours after an appearance that garnered the second-biggest halftime audience ever with an astonishing 117.5 million viewers tuned in.
