“Lady Gaga is over!” Lady Gaga says in a new reverse psychology video
Lady Gaga is answering her critics of “Applause” with a little reverse psychology. In a new teaser video called Lady Gaga Is Over: A Film by Haus of Gaga she appears with her face covered in plastic glaring at the camera while a light flickers on-and-off and jeers play in the background.
As the background insults turn to creepy ethereal music and then applause, subtitles on the video read: “If you don’t like pop music, turn this off.Lady Gaga is no longer relevant. Ever since Born This Way, she’s a flop. DO NOT buy her new single “Applause” on iTunes. Give her no A-P-P-L-A-U-S-E. DON’T dance to the song at all. DO NOT buy ARTPOP on November 11.”
A few days ago Lady Gaga got defensive about some of the things that were said on some music blogs (read some critiques here.)
“Dont focus on ANY blogger criticism. I have been a producer/songwriter/musician for over 10 years. Trust the artist bloggers are not critics,” she tweeted on August 11. “The fans + music scholars are the best critics because they know the artist intimately. #STOPHarassingTheArtist we are here to entertain you. Let’s make 2013 a year where music/talent/artistry is more important than gossip/fanwars I respect all fanbases 4 their passion #BeTheChange.”
Gaga released “Applause” early in a “Pop music emergency” because it had been leaked.
