Shortly after yesterdays gossip over Kylie Jenner’s pregnancy reached peak frenzy yesterday, news of Kylie Jenner’s baby born broke — thanks to an update from Kylie herself. The 20-year-old took to social media for the first time in months, revealing for the first time that she was, in fact, pregnant. (Kylie was the lone Kardashian family member to never actually confirm or deny her pregnancy.)
And we say “was” because Kylie’s update also shared that she and Travis Scott’s daughter came into the world on February 1st! “I just couldn’t wait to share this blessing,” Kylie said. “I’ve never felt love and happiness like this [and] I could burst!”
Here’s Kylie Jenner’s pregnancy message in full:
Before yesterday, the most prevalent rumors about Kylie Jenner’s baby born were that she had actually gone into labor in mid-January, shortly after being spotted with full baby bump at a CVS near Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Beverly Hills.
It’s also worth pointing out that a late December report claiming that Kylie and Travis were “overjoyed” that her due date was only five weeks away turned out to be true, for the most part. Depending on who you believed, Kylie Jenner’s due date was anywhere from late January to late March — unless, of course, you believed she was carrying Kim Kardashian’s third child all along.
We still don’t know Kylie Jenner’s baby’s name; according to a recent write-up in People, Kylie has a name picked out, but she “isn’t sharing.” However, a separate update on Kylie Jenner’s baby born let us know that she and Travis’ baby girl was born at 4:43 PM on February 1st (that’s presumably PST), and that she was a very healthy 8 pounds, 9 ounces.
Finally, here’s a video montage of the last nine months of Kylie’s life — one that she uploaded to her official YouTube channel shortly after the Instagram reveal above. Entitled “To Our Daughter,” the 12-minute clip was directed by Kylie’s friend Tyler Ross, and contains footage from Kylie’s baby shower, the Kardashian family Christmas dinner, one of her first meetings with Travis’ family — and a little bit of the delivery itself. (It’s mostly audio, though there is a very brief and obscured shot of Kylie’s baby at the very end.)
It should come as no surprise that the clip is currently #1 on YouTube and has almost 24 million views over the past 15-ish hours. Here’s “To Our Daughter”:
Congratulations to Kylie and Travis on the birth of their child! And, lest we overlook the mastermind behind the current trifecta of Kardashian pregnancies, congratulations also to grandmomager Kris Jenner. Dropping the news of Kylie Jenner’s baby born literally an hour and a half before the Super Bowl was one of the smartest counterprogramming moves of all time.
