Justin Bieber never believed in Santa because his mom wanted him to believe in God

Justin Bieber revealed to AOL Music that he never believed in Santa because his mom Patti Mallette let him in on the illusion at a young age so he wouldn’t ever think she was a liar about God. Her logic DOES make sense, but many would say that ruined Christmas for him! Others would say that her decision really highlights what Christmas is supposed to be about. It’s supposed to be about celebrating the birth of Christ if you’re a Christian, and for both Christians and non-Christians to spend valuable time with friends and family, and really, give to and appreciate others.

My mom always told me there wasn’t a Santa. This was her logic: She thought if I grew up knowing about Santa then finding out he wasn’t real, that it would be like she was lying to me. And then when she told me about God, I maybe wouldn’t believe her. So she just wanted to be straight-up and honest with me all the time. But I didn’t tell my friends or ruin it for anyone — I was a good kid!

What do you think? Did Justin Bieber’s mom ruin Christmas for her son, or was it better to have never believed at all? How did you feel when you found out there wasn’t a Santa? Were you like The Biebs and never really bought into the story that one night a year a jolly dude in a red quit snuck down all the chimneys and left gifts based on the financial situation of each child?

Here’s a pic of Bieb’s mom Pattie, who’s a hottie herself:
