Jessica Simpson reportedly wants a new reality show about her life
Newlyweds, take two? Jessica Simpson is reportedly in talks with networks about a new reality show, which would feature her life with husband Eric Johnson and their two children, Maxwell and Ace.
“Network executives are willing to write them a blank check,” a source told Star, according to Celebitchy. “Jessica loves the attention.”
On one hand, Jessica’s run on The Newlyweds created some of the problems that led her to divorce Nick Lachey, he said in 2006: “Jessica and I began playing these parts even when we were by ourselves. It became a really blurred line. There was a question about what truly was our reality. When you are on a reality show, your life ceases to be reality. It becomes TV.”
But, on the other hand, would Jessica be the celebrity she still is today without The Newlyweds? That show, arguably more than anything else, solidified her as a pop culture legend — and for good reason. (Who doesn’t remember her chicken of the sea question?) Besides, Jessica is 10 years older and wiser now, so I doubt a show would be as taxing on her marriage… And, personally, I wouldn’t mind seeing her beautiful family on TV!
