Real Housewives of Orange County season 8 is currently in production and although all the ‘Wives are rumored to be returning (even after a bit of confusion regarding Alexis Bellino), there is also one possible new ‘Wife, Lydia Stirling McLaughin. The 31-year-old California gal was included in a photograph with OC Housewives Tamra Barney, Vicki Gunvalson, Heather Dubrow, and Gretchen Rossi headed to Tamra’s bachelorette party in Puerto Vallarta, which has many speculating she will be joining the cast. So, who is Lydia Stirling McLaughlin?
According to StoopidHousewives.com, Lydia is the granddaughter of Geoff Stirling, who started the first 24-hour Candian TV station. Geoff went on to own several other TV stations and later founded Stirling Communications International.
However, Lydia isn’t just some heiress. Lydia graduated from the University of San Diego and has since become an editor at Beverly Hills Lifestyle magazine (which features a Lisa Vanderpump column by the way) and has several companies of her own.
Lydia’s mother (Judy Stirling we believe) was an actress before marrying Lydia’s father (Scott Stirling). In addition to launching her own puppy jewelry line, Lydia also owns an art gallery in Laguna Beach as well as a web design and marketing company. This girl can do it all!
Currently, Lydia is living in Dana Point with her husband Doug McLaughlin and their two sons. Stirling is the older of the two and was born Born Friday, February 6th, 2009, weighing 7lbs 11oz, and measuring 20 inches long. As for Stirling’s little brother, we can’t seem to find out too much — even a name!
As for how she got the gig, it may have been her relationship with Heather Dubrow, who was added as an official ‘Wife during season 7. On Twitter, Heather is the only RHOC star that Lydia follows, and Heather is the only RHOC that follows her.
To keep up with Lydia, follow her on Twitter and stay tuned for the all new season of The Real Housewives of Orange County.
