The couple welcomed a healthy 7-pound, 4-ounce baby boy last night named Edward Duke Rancic!
The seriously proud new papa went to that social media site you may have heard of called “Twitter” to share the joyous news.
The couple’s journey and struggles to parenthood via their show has been a touchstone for what has created so many fans. They welcomed their son via a gestational surrogate.
The term “gestational surrogacy” refers to a treatment process, in which another woman (“gestational surrogate”) undergoes the embryo transfer process, and then carries the pregnancy to term. The intended parents are involved with the pregnancy, are typically present at the birth, and take over parenting responsibilities immediately thereafter.
I’m so pleased to hear the good news. I think “The Duke” is a lucky little boy, almost as fortunate as the parents who welcomed him to the world.
