Game of Thrones’ Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister) reportedly broke

Game of Thrones actress Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister) reportedly broke

It is known that “a Lannister always pays his (or her) debts,” but apparently that can lead to some seriously low cash flow!

Actress Lena headey, who plays HBIC Cersei Lannister on HBO’s hugely popular Game of Thrones, claims to have less than $5 in her bank account, according to divorce documents recently filed by the 39-year-old mother of one.

Headey originally filed for divorce from her husband of five years, Irish musician Peter Loughran, in July of 2012, but Loughran recently made an emergency court filing asking for half of the couple’s $46,000 tax refund from 2011. Headey responded with a filing of her own, claiming that she needs $6,000 from the refund because she and her two-year-old son are currently living off of credit and she has “less than $5 in her bank account.”

According to TMZ, Lena was willing to allow Loughran to have $6,000 of the refund as well, with the rest of the money to be “placed into a two-signature blocked bank account pending a settlement.”

The judge reportedly denied both parties’ motions.

It is unclear how Headey managed to get in such a dire financial situation given that she is a major star in one of the most popular shows on television right now. I mean, you have to make a lot of money to get a $46,000 refund, you know what I mean?

According to TMZ, “Lena says she expects to receive acting income in the near future,” which is evidenced by the fact that she has completed filming on numerous major film projects, including The Purge alongside Ethan Hawke, Mariah Mundi and the Midas Box with Michael Sheen, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones with Lily Collins, and the 300 prequel 300: Rise of an Empire.

We asked Peter Drunklage about all of this, and here’s what he had to say:
