Rihanna’s much-anticipated big screen debut premiered over the weekend as Battleship attempted (unsuccessfully) to unseat The Avengers as the top movie in the country. The sci-fi action film (loosely based on the famous peg board game) has been getting fairly bad reviews from critics and moviegoers alike, but the general consensus is that Rihanna handled what she was given pretty well. And what was she given, you may ask? Basically a lengthy list of one-liners that included exclamations (“Go, go, go!”), Navy speak information (“Tango 1-9, loaded.”), and top brass lass sass (“What’s wrong with you drama queen?”).
Sarah Lawson over at Vulture.com has been kind enough to assemble every bit of Rihanna dialogue from Battleship with everything from the non verbal “(Heavy sigh)” to her lengthy contribution about what her wise dad warned her about (a big budget sci-fi action movie staple), “My dad said they’d come. Said it my whole life. He said one day we’d find them, or they’d find us. Know what else he said? He said, I hope I ain’t around when that day comes.” I’ve even gone through the enormous trouble of illustrating a few of them for you!
