Cheryl Cole deported from American X-Factor by Simon Cowell
While Barack Obama has had some difficulties with his Great Britain trip it looks like one of Britain’s imports is now having her own difficulties as Cheryl Cole has been fired from the American version of The X-Factor by Simon Cowell.
Sources with TMZ are saying that the main reasons for Cole getting the Cowell boot are two-fold. Reason one is that her British accent has been so heavy that the producers are bloody well concerned that us Americans wouldn’t be able to follow. You know, like those dudes from Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. And reason number two is that the chemistry between Cole and Paula Abdul has been underwhelming and Cole was more expendable. Ouch!
Cowell has yet to comment on the specifics of the firing but a replacement has been named as Pussycat Dolls’ Nicole Scherzinger is being promoted from host to judge. Even though Cowell is being uncharacteristically mum I wonder if he had anything to do with this news coinciding with the American Idol final? Probably not considering X-Factor will also be airing on FOX.
To compound the problem Cole is being asked to return to her gig with Britain’s X-Factor but sources are stating that she’s so irate about the Simon diss that she’s considering splitting ties with him permanently.
I’m sure Cheryl will be fine as our friends across the big pond love them some Miss Cole. Personally I’m a little disappointed because I was hoping for some more 80’s flashback fashion like I posted about here. For all you Cole-rollers maybe you’ll get a little enjoyment out of this old post I did on who I thought would be ten good replacements for Simon Cowell on American Idol.
