Bethenny Frankel’s foodie buddy Nick Feitel is skinny now! Plus, watch his acting reel
Okay, I kind of have a crush on Bethenny Frankel’s nerdy foodie buddy Nick Feitel. He’s really smart, he knows A LOT about food, he writes well, he always calls Bethenny ma’am, and . . . . he’s just a mess, but in a lovable way. He has a compelling mix of exhibitionism and self-conscious uncomfortableness that we can all relate to. He’s sweet, but he has trouble with women, and his relationship with Bethenny is one of the best things to ever come from reality television.
According to Bethenny, Nick (who has an acting reel, and appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman, and a Dell commercial before he was cast on Bethenny’s show,) has recently undergone some changes.
We saw him get his eyebrows threaded thanks to Bethenny’s persuasion on last week’s episode, and now Bethenny revealed that he’s lost 50 pounds by following her Naturally-Thin-SkinnyGirl-SkinnyBoy diet. There are no pics yet of the new Nick, but now he’s also really into yoga.
Bethenny told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live that he got so into his new diet that he almost went overboard. “He’s manorexic now . . . I’m like okay, we have to stop now.”
Glad to hear he’s lost weight and getting healthy, but hopefully he’s not getting obsessed with weight loss and taking it to the extreme. I’ve been a fan of Nick since he first walked in to interview with Bethenny, and watching their friendship develop has been a pure joy on the show. Nick stops Bethenny in her tracks because in a way he’s a lot like her (smart, a loner, self-esteem issues) but he’s also her complete opposite (quite.) They’ve got a groove goin’. He originally applied to be cast a Bethenny’s assistant, but that job was never right for him. Thankfully, Bethenny took him under her wing for a more compelling storyline: she’s become his mentor of sorts. We’re rooting for both of them all the way. When her talk show happens this August (according to Bethenny it’s airing on Fox) she better have Nick on the show! He could be a co-host, or have his own segment everyday.
Despite Nick’s awkward shyness, or maybe because of it, Nick’s been toying around with short films and acting for a while. Getting cast on Bethenny’s show wasn’t an accident. Here’s Nick’s acting reel, which was posted on Vimeo 2 year ago:
