Huh? TV show based on Maroon 5’s Sugar music video is in development at NBC

Maroon 5 Sugar Video TV Show

Apparently NBC producers were among the 756 million+ views of Maroon 5’s Sugar music video on YouTube: TV Line reports the network is developing a weekly show based on the hit video. The Untitled Adam Levine Show, as it is currently known, will be executive-produced by the titular singer. Here is more from the logline…

A couple about to get married suddenly discovers that a world-famous recording artist is leading the house band. An Emmy Award-winning actor becomes an unexpected guest of a bachelorette party. Working with a team of improv experts who create the element of surprise, these stars give their fans a moment together they will never forget and turn their already special event into something extraordinary.

As for how that has anything to do with Sugar, the music video features Maroon 5 showing up at fans’ weddings for surprise performances. Similarly, TV Line says the show would “spotlight unsuspecting superfans as they receive the biggest surprise of their lives when the stars they love ‘accidentally’ show up at milestone events.” In addition to Adam, Sugar director David Dobkin is slated to co-produce the show.

In case you now need a refresher on the Sugar music video, here it is…

There is just a pilot order for the show for now, so it’s unknown if/when The Untitled Adam Levine Show will make it to our screens.
