As if any of us needed another reason to freak out over the upcoming season of American Horror Story, it’s been revealed that none other than “The Godmother of Soul” Patti LaBelle has joined the cast!
TVLine reports that the Grammy winning living legend is set to appear in a four episode arch, as the mother of Gabourey Sidibe’s character no less.
Sort of spoiler alertage: LaBelle will portray a local townsperson who starts to unravel the secrets behind Twisty the clown killer. The source added that Patti’s character will not be singing.
LaBelle joins other notable new additions Michael Chiklis and Wes Bentley.
American Horror Story: Freak Show is set in 1950’s era Jupiter, Florida and focuses on the last freak show in America.
The show’s premiere is slated for October – I can’t wait to see Miss Patti bring some of her “new attitude” to an already amazing cast.
