For the second time in less than a month, Rihanna’s found herself in a bit of social media trouble — this time for apparently mocking a 16-year-old fan who imitated one of Rihanna’s iconic looks for prom.
With the help of a family friend, Baltimore high-school student Alexis Carter proudly recreated the forest green outfit Rihanna wore to the 2010 Echo Awards.
“Everybody was saying, ‘Oh my god, I love it, it looks nice, your body looks good, it’s different,'” Alexis told Fox Baltimore of peers’ reactions to her attire at the recent dance.
After enjoying the night and feeling great in the unique outfit, Alexis was shocked the next morning to see she was getting ridiculed online with the hashtag #PromBat. But the ultimate mortification came a few days later when Rihanna — who was Alexis’ “idol” — joined in by poking fun.

“I was very offended,” Alexis said of Rihanna’s reaction. “Why throw shade on it when you had on the exact same thing. The poses was different but the outfit wasn’t.”
Despite the embarrassment, Alexis plans to have the last laugh by designing another unique look for next year’s prom… It just won’t be a tribute to Rihanna.
The now ex-fan said, “She don’t love her fans like she says she does.”
