Kate Middleton’s due date revealed

Just one month after Kate Middleton was hospitalized with Hyperemesis Gravidarum, the Palace has officially announced her due date and cleared up the rumors that Kate may be pregnant with twins.

“Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to confirm they are expecting a baby in July,” the Palace said in a statement, adding, “The Duchess’s condition continues to improve since her stay in hospital last month.” While the Palace did clarify that Kate is expecting just one baby, they also said that they will not be releasing the sex of the baby.

The baby’s July arrival could mean that he or she will share a birthday with the late mother of Prince William, Princess Diana, who was born on July 1.

And speaking of princesses, Queen Elizabeth gave Kate quite the birthday present on January 9, with this announcement:

“The Queen has been pleased by Letters Patentunder the Great Seal of the Realm dated 31 December 2012 to declare that all the children of the eldest son of the Prince of Wales should have and enjoy the style, title and attribute of royal highness with the titular dignity of Prince or Princess prefixed to their Christian names or with such other titles of honor.”

The Queen’s decree overturns a previous one that has been around for a century and allows for Kate Middleton and Prince William’s child (if it is a girl) to officially be titled a princess!

Last week, Kate looked to be in good health at the unveiling of her first official royal portrait, but so far, the pregnancy hasn’t exactly been easy on Kate. She was hospitalized on December 3rd with severe morning sickness and released three days later. While Kate continued to suffer, she never required any further hospitalization.

During an event last month, Prince William weighed in on his wife’s condition telling press, “I don’t know why they call it morning sickness — they should call it all day and all night sickness. Recovery is a long old process but she is getting there. She feels like it is going to go on forever.”
