Is The Amazing Race’s Caite Upton an amazing racist?

Caite Upton of the Amazing Race makes a face offensive to Asians

The only thing worse than needing advice from Miley Cyrus is not heeding it when you do. Former Miss Teen South Carolina Caitlin Upton became an internet sensation after seriously fumbling a question during the Miss Teen USA pageant in 2007. (The youtube video has been watched over 50 million times in its various forms.) The 20-year-old’s appearance on 16th season of The Amazing Race was to be her shot at redeeming herself, so you would think she would be a bit gun-shy about things like… making fun of Asian Pacific Islanders and Chinese people!

The above photo of Caite was posted on her friend’s Facebook account with the caption “And I think Caite felt left out from our previous Chinese picture. Hahaha”

Miley Cyrus offends Asians

If you remember, Miley Cyrus got into all sorts of hot water, and even got sued for $4 billion by Lucie J. Kim, for a photo of herself and others making the offensive face. One lame and one better apology later the law suit was dismissed. So, here’s a little help for you Caite – it’s the second apology from Miley that seemed to do the trick:

“I want to thank all of my fans for their support not only this week, but always! I really wanted to stress how sorry I am if the photo of me with my friends offended anyone. I have learned a valuable lesson from this and know that sometimes my actions can be unintentionally hurtful. I know everything is a part of GOD’s ultimate plan, and mistakes happen so that eventually I will become the woman he aspires me to be. Peace and love, Miles”
