Throughout the last few years, Tori Spelling’s made no secret of her money problems — even saying at one point she couldn’t afford Dean McDermott’s planned vasectomy. Despite parlaying their cheating scandal into two seasons of a reality show, insiders say Tori and Dean have again burned through their earnings and are now possibly even worse off than before.
“After Tori asked a close friend, another well-known actress, for money, it really became apparent the family is in trouble,” a source close to the former 90210 star told Radar Online, adding everyone close to Tori was “shocked because Tori had been saying until recently that things were going very well for the family financially.”
As for where the money went so quickly, the source said Tori still has kids Liam and Stella enrolled in a pricey private school and has more than 100 storage units — which cost her nearly $7,000 per month! Not surprisingly, the insider said Tori’s fallen behind on those payments and is now in danger of losing her stored goods.
“If Tori doesn’t become current with the payments, the contents will be auctioned off,” the insider said. “The family has no savings left.”
Making matters worse, Tori supposedly can’t do much work right now because of the burns she suffered when she fell onto a hot grill at Benihana in April. (She is suing the company for medical expenses and lost wages.)
However, the source said Tori rejected the idea of doing work other than acting anyway. “Friends of the couple have suggested Tori and Dean get jobs outside of the acting world, but Tori scoffed, claiming she doesn’t know how to do anything else,” the source said. “With four kids to feed, Tori shouldn’t rule out doing anything to earn a paycheck!”
