I thought I might take this wonderful Labor Day holiday to kick off something new here at Starcasm (no, bloggers don’t get holidays off) called #MashupMonday in which we take a couple of our favorite things and mash ’em together to see what happens.
Our inaugural pairing brings together two television shows that couldn’t be more different. First we have the ladies and gentlemen from the early 20th Century Yorkshire country estate of Downton Abbey, whose antics come courtesy of the marvelous chaps across the pond at ITV and the blokes at PBS here in the States. Secondly, we have Jersey Shore meatball besties Snooki & JWoww who now have their own eponymous spin-off series on MTV.
The result, as you may have surmised by the photo above, is Snooki & JWowwnton Abbey. Conceptually I’m imagining Duchess Snooki and Countess JWoww to be friends of the pre-Jersey Shore Dionysian Lady Rose MacClare who were invited to stay at Downton for the summer because their noble parents had reached their wits’ end. Ignoble hijinks ensues!
